In 1988, Gurminder D. Singh Sodhi founded Jasraj with one clear objective — to be the most reliable precision engineering partner in Western India. He started with structural fabrication at Taloja MIDC, then a small machine shop out of the family space at Ulhasnagar — no investors, no shortcuts.
By 1991 he was manufacturing Special Purpose Machines: PVC granule plants, high-speed mixers, granulators, and fully automatic injection moulding machines. By 1998 he had built and erected a scrap handling plant with granulator and conveyor for Owens Corning Ltd. By 2005, a complete metal shredder, lifter, tilter, and drum crusher for Thermax India Ltd.
In 2011 he dissolved a failed partnership, purchased a plot in Additional MIDC Ambernath, constructed a purpose-built factory, and started fresh. No drama about it — he just rebuilt. Since then, Jasraj has grown into a 7,000 sq ft precision engineering facility with 20+ machines, serving 50+ industrial clients.
In 2025, Jasraj was incorporated as a Private Limited Company — formalising 37 years of manufacturing credibility into a modern business structure built for the next chapter. [file:2]

Jasraj is born in Taloja MIDC
G.D. Singh Sodhi starts with structural fabrication at site, followed by a small machine shop in the family space at Ulhasnagar. No investors. Zero shortcuts.
First Special Purpose Machines
Entered SPM manufacturing — PVC granule plants, high-speed mixers, granulators, and fully automatic screw-type injection moulding machines.
Owens Corning project delivered
Manufactured and erected a complete scrap handling plant with granulator and conveyor for Owens Corning Ltd, Taloja.
New factory shed & office built
First purpose-built factory space constructed — a signal that Jasraj was moving from job shop to serious manufacturing operation.
Thermax India — Metal Shredder project
Designed and manufactured a metal shredder, lifter, tilter, and drum crusher for Thermax India Ltd, Pune. A career-defining project that opened the thermal engineering vertical.
Dissolved partnership. Rebuilt from scratch.
After a failed venture cost 4 years and capital, G.D. Singh dissolved the partnership and purchased a plot in Additional MIDC Ambernath. Constructed a purpose-built CNC factory. Started fresh.
CNC fleet built machine by machine
Registered as vendor for ASB International. Acquired Jyoti CNC lathe (2012), Fully Auto Band Saw (2013), first Ezee Cut EDM (2014), BFW VMC Chakra (2015), Granite Surface Plate (2015).
Advanced measurement & EDM expansion
Added Height Master (Electronica), Kent Surface Grinder (Taiwan), Chmer EDM GL-360 (Taiwan), Ace Micromatic CNC Lathe, and second-gen Ezee Cut EDM.
5-Axis CNC & Accutex EDM installed
Added Jyoti 5-Axis CNC (1200mm), three more Ezee Cut EDMs, and the Accutex Wire EDM (Taiwan) — unlocking defence, aerospace, and thermal precision contracts.
